It would be helpful to have a symbol for showing that legally the parental rights have been terminated.
Another thing which would be great to show that the relationship is guardianship. (Currently, the closest choice is adoption and then put a label to actual indicate it was guardianship. Thank you -

For legal termination of parental rights, I would suggest putting slashes through the parental line as is done on the relationship line for separation and divorce. Maybe something like this:
One slash: Custodial rights surrendered, but visitation rights retained.
Two slashes: Custodial and visitation rights surrendered.
Three slashes: All contact cut off between parent and children.
This does blur the line somewhat between biological/legal and emotional relationships, but I think it maintains a clear legal significance as opposed to the emotional relationship connectors. Other thoughts?
