Dear GenoPro team,

I often use the following functionality: find the person by his phone number. When I enter the number info find dialog (Ctrl-F), it reports
[Search Results for '24-91']
1 Contacts

and opens search result list with no entries. This happens because the selection is set to "Individuals", so switching to "Contacts" on the toolbar finally shows the matched contact.

I personally find this confusing: some results are found but result list is empty. Is it possible to develop the dialog further so that either all types of matches are shown, or toolbar automatically switches to the view having the search results?

I agree with you.  GenoProX has a method named "FindVisibleObjectMatchingDataObject()' for that purpose.

In other words, if you search for an [invisible] data object, such as a contact, or occupation record, then GenoProX will be able to find the best visible object (individual, family, etc) containing that data object and make it selectable to the user (you).

Another thing is with GenoProX is the Table Layout will likely support multiple sections, each having distinct sections.  For instance, the first section may contain individuals, the second section may contain families.  Each section will have its own set of columns, however this will be very useful when displaying search results.

What error are you getting?

Whomever it concern,

I wish I could find a phone number to call because it will be easier to explain. But I will try it this way. I did a genogram of my family and did not register with genopro but saved it to my computer.

My computer can open the file but my professor can't and I am trying to convert the file to PDF instead of a GenoPro document.

Can you please help with this so I can give to my professor by this afternoon?

thank you,

Laurie Linton

I agree with you. GenoProX has a method named "FindVisibleObjectMatchingDataObject()' for that purpose.

Do I understand correctly that desktop application is not further developed? If I missed the point, please tell in which version of GenoPro the "Find" function works more intelligently (I am using 2.5.4.1).

Greetings!

I would like to leave a message for member " grace710 " regarding an error I found on her tree.

Your tree mentions " Austrasia " a country that no longer exists. It used to be located in Europe, partly in France and partly in Germany. You should be able to obtain an accurate map on the internet.

Some of the people in your tree are also in mine, suggesting that we are related, so cousin, I wish you the best!

Gregg

p. s. Charlemagne is my 33rd great gf, William the Conqueror is my 27th great gf, and . . .

President George Washington is my 2nd cousin 7x removed. Thirty five thousand plus relatives are in my tree.
