Trying to figure out how to handle the situation where one sister gave up her child for adoption and another sister adopted the child.

Just create a family line for the sister (e.g. select, then New Mate (M) and then delete mate) then select child, right click 'Link as child' and connect to sister's family line. select the pedigree and change to adopted

This helped me, too.  I have a female cousin who had a son with a husband, who she later divorced.  Her next husband adopted him.  This suggestion worked for that situation, too.  So Thanks!
