I'm surprised that there hasn't been a response to this. I'm going to have to play with the kinship calculator myself and see if I get similar results, because this seems very strange.

The version of the Kinship Calculator in the latest version of Genopro 2018, i.e. 3.0.1.4, is 2017.05.17 and does correctly detect sibling-in-law relationships. Your screenshot shows version 2008.11.18

The algorithm works by searching for a common ancestor.  If A & B have no parent defined then no ancestor is found.

I will change wording to say 'No relationship by blood, marriage or other union can be found.' rather than 'are not blood relatives or related by marriage or other union'
