I've been absent from the forum for about five months due to work and genealogy research. I decided to stop back in today and see what was new, and I found GenoPro 2018. Smile What I'm hoping for in GenoPro 2018 (which I've just installed, but haven't yet played with) or in GenoProX is the ability to trace ancestor and descendant lines through hyperlinks. A relationship calculator built into the program would also be wonderful. GenoProX is looking better and better, and I'm glad to see another interim release while we wait.

Not sure what you mean by using hyperlinks to trace ancestors. Search sites do link to possible ancestors.
However hyperlinks can be used to solve your other problem of linking two basically separate files.
If you open the table for one individual and click the hyperlink tab you can browse to another file. Click here to establish the link.
This will open that file from the first one. You obviously need a return link in the second file.
The basic link only opens the file but you can direct it to an individual - although I would have to remember how to do this if you are interested. In your case it sounds that the parents are the obvious links.
Not sure what would happen with reporting but basically this is a way to link files on your own PC

What I mean by the hyperlinks is, when I select ancestors or descendants of an individual, have the selection "flow through" hyperlinks in the case of a separated genogram. I'm talking about entirely within GenoPro, nothing to do with research online. Sorry for the confusion.

If you want to link the two files then look at the hyperlink tab. I should have done so before posting last night.
If you have two files with only a few common individuals then the detail shown on the menu explains what to do. If you select an individual, such as your father; open the hyperlink tab in properties; browse to the other file. I had forgotten that Genopro dos all the hard work and will make a link to the same person in the other file. Test the link and create  a return link. If there are only a few common individuals it will not take too long to link them all

Thanks! I'll try that out now. I had a busy week at work, so I just saw your reply now.
