Registration key and Pre-Purchase

Hi there,

I just purchased GenoPro in order to pre-purchase GenoProX, as the website says that I need to be an existing customer with a registration key in order to pre-purchase. However, after buying the product and entering the registration key that I got, when I try to pre-purchase GenoProX, I get an error message that says "You cannot upgrade from this version of GenoPro." Since I have a Mac, I can't even use the current software on my computer, but simply purchased it in order to be able to pre-purchase the new software, which I now seem to be unable to do, for some reason. Can you please help? I would love to be able to pre-purchase, or at least get a refund, since I'm stuck with having paid for a product that I can't seem to use (currently) in any way.

Thanks so much,
Kathryn Shanks

P.S. The site also seems to not be allowing me to purchase anything (including the original GenoPro) except in Euros. https://genopro.com/buy/?version=crowdfunding&package=Supporter

Hi Kathryn,

Yes, the site doesn't allow you to pre-purchase a GenoProX with a GenoPro 2020 key because GenoPro 2020 already includes credit towards GenoProX, so no need to double spend.
See at the very bottom of the GenoPro purchase page it states:
"**
The full amount of your purchase of GenoPro 2020 will be credited towards GenoProX (when available)."

So that is why it will not accept that key.  Thank you for your support!

Many people have success running GenoPro 2020 on their Mac.  There are several ways to accomplish this.  One is using an app called CrossOver for the Mac https://www.codeweavers.com/products which you can try for free.

Another is running a Windows Virtual Machine, using Parallels Desktop (https://www.parallels.com/) , VMware Fusion (https://www.vmware.com/products/fusion.html) , or VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/).  Keep in mind that Microsoft doesn't force you to register a Windows 10 license.  You can continue to run Windows 10 on a virtual machine without being forced to purchase a license.

You can also dual boot with Apples Boot camp (https://support.apple.com/boot-camp).

We do have a page with some tips at:  https://genopro.com/faq/is-there-a-macintosh-version-of-genopro.aspx

If you do really rather have a refund, do let us know.

  Best regards,

Oh wonderful! I did somehow miss that bit about GenoPro2020 including pre-registering for GenoProX. That will work just fine, I don't need a refund. Thank you, and really appreciate the tips on using current program on a Mac.
