I entered, in the Nickname field, some Nicknames that I had found in old documents: almost always familiar nicknames, not personal nicknames. Now in Narrative Report - in phrases PhParents, PhParents1, and PhFamilyWith , the Nickname is used by default, instead of the Name; - and also in phrase "He had nn brothers and nn sisters, named ...", the Nicknames of the brothers and sisters are listed by default, instead of the Names. How is it possible to modify the phrases so that only the Names and never the Nicknames appear? Where is the choice made to use the Nickname instead of the Name by default? In the Dictionary, the parameter {0} of these phrases is always indicated as Name, not Nickname. Regards

By default the Narrative Report uses the GenoPro generated tag, Name.Short in the body of the text, which is set by GenoPro to the first non-empty value of Name.Nick, Name.First and Name.Last. This can be changed via the Names tab of the Configuration Parameters dialogue. i.e. change '' from 'Name.Short' to 'Name.First'

Thank you. I never thought that "Name.Short" could be the Nickname by default.

I think it would be better if Name.Short was an actual field on the Individual Properties dialogue rather than one generated from other fields. Perhaps used just for shortened first names e.g. Bill for William, Bob for Robert, Sue for Susan, Joe for Joseph etc. Name.Nick could then be just for other 'Known as' names, often given by friends and associates rather than family.
