Please tell me I've misunderstood something here: it appears there's no way to display a person's photo AND their birth & death dates. In fact, once I've attached a photo to an individual, the only way to display their birth & death dates (even just temporarily) is to detach the photo from their properties.

AFAIK it is not possible when using GenoPro's 'Picture Mode'.
However you can display the primary picture alongside it (select individual, right click and select 'Display Primary Picture' or just type Ctrl & I), see option a. below. With a bit of fiddling this can be adjusted to appear as in c. below. In the individual's Properties dialog, under the Display Tab uncheck 'Gender Symbol' then under the 'General' tab set Display Name 'Lines' to 7 and then copy & paste this text between the quotes "‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑ ‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑ ‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑ ‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑ " in front of the individual's Display Name. The text is 10 non-breaking hyphens and a space repeated 4 times. This gives an extra 4 lines above the name. (see b. below) You then move the primary picture between the date(s) and the name, resizing as required and 'Bring to Front' (Shift & ] ) to achieve c. below. |
