so ive been using geno pro for a few weeks to plot out the royal line of sucession for a book. not its intended use i know but i find it works and looks good for this purpouse. anyhow ive been sort of color-coding the different people as such- blue are queens, orange (i believe that was gambling originally) is kings, pink goes to those that are inneligable for the line (mostly mistresses and bastard children or extended family of a maried-in king or queen. i also code noble mariaes to those who the line doesnt diretly follow (like the previous kings brother maried a duchess or something like that and so on) as blue and purple on the inside (originally depression and diabeties) ... sorry im rambling... anyhow to do this i just acessed a small button at the top that showed the thing it does. liek orange, blue and pink squares and then liek seven little seagment color options beside it. i cant seem to find it to re-inact it and i cant find any other alternative way to use this sort of setting except for maybe just manualy setting the color in the display tab... please help.

It is possible to detach a toolbar from the window header and relocate it, possibly making it hidden although still selected in the toolbar list. I suggest you reset the GenoPro toolbars to their default values using the Windows Registry Editor as follows:

  1. Close any running instances of GenoPro.exe
  2. Right click on Windows Start button and click 'Run'
  3. Type regedit and click Ok.
  4. In Registry Editor, navigate to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DanMorin.com\GenoPro\Toolbars
  5. Right click on Toolbars entry and chose 'Delete'
  6. Close registry Editor
  7. Restart GenoPro
Warning: Be careful with the registry editor and follow above instructions precisely

im assuming that you mean the entire toobars folder yes?

it gave me the prompt of are you suer you want to delete this key and all of its sub keys as there were folders within it. i hit yes and when i opened a genopro window again the icons in question were still gone...

... unless you eant something different by "toolbars entry" or "restart genopro" and i just misunderstood.

There are a few other posts about this issue on the forum. (Search  for toolbar)

It seems to be related to the Tools / Options setting 'Display Genogram symbols for Family Relationships'

Uncheck this option then close GenoPro application and then open it again.
