Today it happened for first time that GenoPro crashed during generating of the report of the whole document. In case the report is generated for each report separately it works fine. Report is generated for [1306] pages, the crash occurs after "Processing template 'places.htm'..." is written in the Report Log frame, [1305 from 1306]. I can repeat the crash on this PC, It was not tested on some other PC. GenoPro 2b14b 11 GenoMaps 1012 individuals Object Type Object Count # Pictures # Custom Tags Extra Information Individuals 1012 53 95 hyperlinks, 481 males, 481 females Families 328 8 Pedigree Links 1253 2 adopted, 0 foster Pictures 53 Places 99 3 Occupations 81 Contacts 4 Sources and Citations 35 Emotional Relationships 26 Twins 6 Labels 299 Shapes 20 Privacy Profiles 21

Do you mean a crash where GenoPro is forced to be closed, or an error within the report generator? Could this bug related to Report Generator Bug in Education Section? I am really worried about those crashes I have little clue where they come from. I would love to try a .gno file causing such a crash on my machine. If I can get the crash on my machine, I will fix it.

It's fatal crash, GenoPro is closed. It's at the same place of generating reports as described on the link but the message is different (win2000) - without address. If you want I can send you the gno file but keep it just for you. Let me know how to send it privately.

The bug is in the Report Generator's Privacy Option Delete Stray Objects. If you uncheck this option, you will will not get the crash anymore. I am working to fix the problem so stray objects are deleted without crashing the application.

The bug has been fixed on my machine. I cannot give you an update at the moment because Beta15 is not ready yet.

GenoProSupport (10/1/2005) The bug has been fixed on my machine. I cannot give you an update at the moment because Beta15 is not ready yet.Does this mean that the next update will not be 14c, but 15 and when might this be ready? I am hopeing that Ron will find time to finish the templates soon .

imcon (10/2/2005) what does it mean "stray objects" ?It is the same as "orphan objects" in the computer jargon. A stray object may be a picture not used anywhere in the tree. For instance, if you delete an individual, all the pictures of that individual will remain in the .gno file unless explicitly deleted. This is a feature by design. iaintait (10/2/2005)

GenoProSupport (10/2/2005) Yes, Beta 15 is next. I contacted Ron about template #7 and he told me it was about the family report having more options. The only important changes are the removal of the family photos and details on the individual html to be replaced with name links and the addition of both parents to the family html (rather like the old 1.99 generator produced) Ron tells me he is working on the two templates (He seems rather good at this!) All the other templates seem perfect.

pS. I just experienced the same problem. I am quite puzzled since it happend after I changed the occupations of....... ....myself. After setting the stray object removal to no, it worked like a charm. rgds, Ronald
