3. Have a special flag to indicate some pictures are not inheritable.
Sounds like the best solution to me. Certainly, there may be cases where a picture is desired to be displayed for all children, but I'd definitly like an option to separate them if I want to. Either way, I'm looking forward to it .

Now I do not want to have the coat of arms as a picture of the house, and neither the house as a picture for the whole city. Is there a way to restrict images in hierarchical places? Since the hierarchical places have been implemented, I have been considering one of the following solution: - Not inherit the place pictures. I don't think this is the best idea, however sometimes it is not "appropriate" to inherit a picture of a parent place.
- Have a separate tag to include all the pictures.
- Have a special flag to indicate some pictures are not inheritable.

I don't know whether it's a bug or the lack of a feature, or just me missing the point, but since it belongs to the hierarchical places feature, I'll post it here.
Say I have a "City" as a place, and "House" as a specific house. Now I add "City's coat of arms" as a picture to "City". When I add "House" as a child place to "City", I see the coat as a picture for the house. When I now add a picture of said house to "House", it also appears in "City".
I hope I could make myself clear.
Now I do not want to have the coat of arms as a picture of the house, and neither the house as a picture for the whole city. Is there a way to restrict images in hierarchical places?

Thanks. This looks a useful and powerful feature - but probably needs to be more 'visible'

The place within place allow you to enter a sub place without copied all the data. This will also allow you to make search of parent place.Maybe individual A live in City of Boston and individual B live also in the city of Boston, with place within place, we can know determine that both lived at the same city. Italic field are copied from the parent place, so if the parent change, all child's places will be updated automatically. This is an example, we do not really recommend to create all level for a place, but shared information should be organized.

Press Ctrl+E (Edit Place) and select the Parent Place. GenoPro will display in italic any field from the parent place.
