It is impossible to say what could go wrong from so short description. Can you, please, describe broader context... step by step...

Have you check if the file is read-only? This happened with file from CD or sample files that cannot be modified from their location.Try to save the file to another location like "My Document" or remove the Read-Only protect.

I think you are trying to modify a web page! Can you confirm whether 1) you are working with the Genopro software or 2) if you are viewing a web site and trying to modify a particular individual page, i.e. after clicking the Genopro icon which is besides the green tree? We may help further.

I guess I'm on a web page. Is there another non-web site? The person who helped me download the program and set up the entries is unavailable right now, but know he published to the web. I'm getting to it through "My Favorites" Is there a site besides the published web site? If so, How do I access it? Sorry I'm such a dunce!!!

You cannot therefore modify the web site page.Generally speaking, any web site cannot be modified. It would be wonderful if, for example, we could modify the prices of articles published on a supermarket website! Isn't? But we cannot. I suggest 1) you browse again the site and try to find the email address of the guy who published the site. If it's one of your friends, you may already know his/her email ad and 2) send him/her an email and explain the error/correction you reported above. Good luck

If you have started from a web page but can get to the properties page then you must have followed the links and downloaded GenoPro.exe (it is a very compact file so you would hardly notice on Broadband)
As you are working on the web page you will have been asked to download familytrees.gno, which contains all of the information. When I tried this just now I could edit that file. A possibility is that you have not registered the program and therefore only have a 'viewer' version. If this is the case then you need to follow the link in this forum to obtain an evaluation key which will allow you to save edits
Hope this helps
