Okay, thanks for the tips. I think I was heading this way anyway. As for genomaps I totally agree, i already have just on one leg of my tree (1 of 4) 460 genomaps/individuals and growing... Thanks again for the tip and I will connect these as a loose relationship for now.

How should one handle adoptions? I have a couple who tragically died and left children behind who have been adopted by family members. How do I show the linkage properly within the tool?
Any suggestions?

These are very difficult, as the current English Narrative Report treats these people by blood line, and ignores Children growing up in relational groups where the Grandfather will never be reported as same, because he is not a blood relative. However it is best to treat them [roperly in the Genomap and one day help to get the report to clarify the emotional relationships.

Also, I have a huge tree which goes back to 1590...so any ideas on how to manage this a bit better would help as well. Should I split families into separate maps, etc?

My own tree is made up of 740 Genomaps. I find it a preferred option as each Family segment is shown on an individual page. It also means that Second families (second marriages) are separated and reduces conflict with readers. It is far better for printing.  It overcomes the short comings of the Re-arrange function. It has no effect on the English Narrative Report.  I look forward to some minor changes that will allow printing of a small selection of Genomaps and viewing and printing though hyperlinks.

oh, my own thoughts on the second part of the question I had is probably export as XML and write a tool in Perl, PNG or the like to better graphically represent stuff the way I like. Has anyone done this yet? Thanks.
