I have read that over, but the report generator is showing somethings that I think are caused by the way that I am entering information in the Individuals properties dialog. I also have a problem, as I have two sides of a family with the same last name.  My grandmothers last name was Notich, but when they came to America they changed it to Stein.  My grandfathers last name was stein.  How can I seperate the two families?  I don't see how you can keep the blood lines in order.

If two families have the same last name then they will be shown under the same heading in both the Name Index and the Family Index of the report. The only way to separate them in the indices is to alter the names so that they appear to be different - this could be visually distinctive by eg capitalisation of some characters, or by adding hidden characters (eg a space).

At present GenoPro is restricted in the way you can record name change for an individual. Using the 'Alternative Names' field is an option, but this is often used to record the married name for a female. There has been some discussion on suggestions for future versions of GenoPro - see http://support.genopro.com/Topic15044-63-1.aspx

I have a cousin who has out lived 4 wifes.  No one would know them all by there maiden names, only through there married name to my cousin.  I get very confused with the proper way to do these things.  Is it just a case of do as it makes sense to you?

To a large extent, yes, you can use GenoPro in the way it works best for you. However, you will find that the Report Generator makes certain assumptions which may restrict the way you input information. In your example, if you put your cousin's last name in the 'Alternative Names' field of his wives, you can then edit their 'Full Name' and 'Display Name' to how you want them to appear (Tip: you are not limited to the drop-down lists - you can type anything into these fields) - the 'Full Name' appears in the report, and the 'Display Name' shows on the Genogram. If someone is known by a name other than their given name you can also use the 'Nickname / Initials' field.

As a first glance I highly recommend to spend two-three hours just to run through http://www.genopro.com/help/. It worth the time Smile, really.

Thank you very much.  That did the trick.  I have a bunch of other questions regarding these type of things.  Are you all able to answer them all?  Some of them may sound pretty dumb?*&^*(

The problem is that Jeffrey has been excluded from the family. Click on to the Family tab for Jeffrey and it appears he has no relatives. Uncheck the box Make Label/Exclude from Report, and he re-appears

Make sure that the 'make label' checkbox is not clicked on the missing person.

Posting Attachments is in a bad location and easily missed, you scroll down to the bottom of the Post Reply page that I am currently using to send this message and choose Edit Attachments.  You can then use the dialog to search for the file on your computer and upload it.

Can you tell me how to do that?

It is not something that I have ever done, and investigating the forum I realised that there is no obvious method although others have done so.

Can someone give instructions to 'Post Attachment'?
