Is it possible to safely refresh an existing GenoPro with an updated GED? My apologies if this is already documented somewhere. I do not wish to redo GenoPro work again after each refresh, as I plan to maintain my GED in another program.

By refresh I assume you mean to merge files. Not possible with GenoPro at present but somewhere on the to-do list

Thanks - so what is the recommended strategy? Take care to import only new records, and manually update my GenoPro file with existing-but-changed records?

Eventually it might make better sense for me to use GenoPro as my system of record, but I only just discovered it and I'm still very comfortable with PhpGedView for most things. It will take me time to transition my data over and see everything GenoPro can do (in particular those things I need which PGV lacks, which I am still working out). GenoPro's great online presentation featuresets were what initally attracted me, and I believe these compliment PGV extremely well. I've not yet decided how to integrate the two tools together.
Right now, my tree is stable enough that I feel more or less OK using the two tools, although I know I will be tweaking my Gedcom and adding small branches in the near term, and probably will add larger trunks and branches in the future. This is where running periodic imports into GenoPro would come in handy.
