Not even the text box with the reference to the picture ID? If the text box is there, check the pictureID in this box and look into the table layout under picture. If that ID is not there, you must have deleted that picture. The picture might be there, but under a different ID? I had this before because I had deleted any reference to any other object. The report generator could not find that ID.

Thanks for your response. I'm not too sure what I'm doing here so probably haven't followed your instructions properly. I'm sure this is something really simple as all of my pictures have vanished overnight, not just the one. When I generate a report and go to 'show pictures' they are all there. They are missing when I click on a name in the basic genogram that I know has a picture attached. The red spot is still there too so I'm sure I haven't deleted any pics. Apologies for sounding so basic.

Your answer shows it is not what I thought it was. Did you move or rename the folder with your pictures? Please check the path (Picture Location) of your pictures. You can Rename or Move pictures under the Menu item "Tools", not just one by one.

I definitely didn't move or rename anything and I've checked the path as you recommend - it is unchanged (C:documents and settings\my documents\my pictures\...). I thought it might be to do with memory (58% free) so tried to attach another picture from the same source. It worked but the others are still missing. Have I had a visit from the picture fairy? I appreciate your patience.

34018 (4/21/2007) I definitely didn't move or rename anything and I've checked the path as you recommend - it is unchanged (C:documents and settings\my documents\my pictures\...). Is that an exact quote of the path? It should read: C:\documents and settings\my documents\my pictures\...

No - sorry, I missed the \ It as you said C:\... I've put a few of the photos back - some stayed and some disappeared again. The ones that have stayed for 24 hours I've ticked the 'preserve full path' box. This could be a co-incidence. It's curious as GenoPro also resides in C:\ They only seem unstable on the genogram - they are all present on the generated report. I don't know if this sheds any light - I sent the genogram to a couple of relatives as a mail attachement - all was ok apart from the absent photos. Again, thanks for your interest.

Did some checking on your problem and it comes back to the path of the pictures (report and/or gno file) When you make a report pictures are stored in a subfolder "pictures" and are accessed by the report pages properly, however when you open the Familytree.gno, which was created during the creation of the report, the picture path is what you have stated and this path does not match, thus you can`t see the pictures. In your case it is advisable to put all the pictures right from the beginning in the folder which is normally created by the report generator (pictures) and specify this path in the gen file.

Thank you so much - that does make sense. I'll do as you suggest and report back. I hope this exchange has been useful to others struggling with the technical.
