I need to use both to share common genograms; do I do that simply by placing the genograms on a drive they share and then using the appropriate URL or is there another way to do this?

There are two mechanism to share a genogram:1. Send the file by email to another user and have the genogram modified. You can send the file by email or through our send file dialog (http://www.genopro.com/help/send-file/) 2. The other alternative is to publish your genogram at http://familytrees.genopro.com and password-protect it. This is a bit more complicated, however if you want to share your genogram with multiple individuals, this is a good approach. We are working on a true collaboration module, so you will be able to have other members of your family capable to view and edit your family tree online. The collaboration module will have security, where the creator (or administrators) of the family tree will have control on who can view and/or modify the family tree, including adding pictures and other attachments such as audio & video clips. GenoPro will also display a history of changes by users, in case of the need to contact a family member for more details.

I'd like to ask about "sharing" in a slightly different context.Is there a way to share links between genopro files? Say there is a distant grandmother on my tree and I don't know anything about her ancestors or siblings, but I discover there is another genopro user (User X) that has built the entire family tree for her family. Is there a way that my published report can connect to User X's published report with an online link of some sort? So if I click on her in my family tree, there is a hyperlink that will jump to User X's family tree. (Did I explain myself correctly) Here's an example, I build a family tree for Pamela Andersen's real life family tree and upload it. Then I build another tree for her imaginary Baywatch family tree (if there is any) and upload that, and say another one for her VIP show, etc. Can I link her "real life" genomap to her "imaginary" genomaps? It would be similar to creating links to external spreadsheets in Excel.

You can certainly link two completely different GenoPro files on your PC using external hyperlink. I have a family file but also a file containing people from a certain village. External hyperlinks are used to jump from one file to another.
I have not attempted to do this with files on the Internet but presume you could use the same technique. The problem is to identify the exact URL to add to the hyperlink.
Anyone done it?

There are two ways of establishing external links.
1) through the method as described as above and
2) through a source record
A source record will be shown on the individuals page and can be accessed from there, whereas the external link can be accessed via the SVG chart.
Suggestion to Ron: To include information of an external link on the individuals page. May be under "Additional Information".

I have already done a similar thing with Ancestry as I am preparing a reduced tree for my web site as space is short.I added the father in the usual way then added the link to that person as an external hyperlink which I copied from the web page at Ancestry. Now when you click on this person in the svg it opens the Ancestry page for that person. I haven't yet generated a report so am not sure how it will work there.

Thanks. I did not use it before, but tried it and it would be better to open a different homepage in a new window, rather than in the detail frame.

My family tree has about 1,500 individuals in it, and takes me about 5 minutes to generate a report.
Most of the individuals in the tree are Greek or of Greek-descent, but my sister married into an Italian family.
I just had the idea to split it into 2 files with all the Greeks in one tree, and all the Italians/those of Italian-descent in another, with my sister as the link. Her kids will appear in the Italian family tree since they have an Italian surname.
The question I have is: If you want to see the ancestors of one of her children, will it only show the Italian ancestors or will it follow the hyperlinks and pull her ancestors from the linked Greek tree? What about properly listing their maternal grandparents?

(Makes no sense to mix families who are not related and don't know each other into same file.)
