I have pondered a similar issue. I am currently working with a few relatives over the internet, and they have their own family tree type information. We've talked about exchanging GEDCOM files... but what if we want to update what we have... it would be very difficult for me to updatemy version with their updated version.
The problem becomes more complicated when we have to "merge" the two versions. As in, both her and my tree contain Uncle Joe's branch, and through our own research, both she and I updated different things about people in Uncle Joe's branch. Now we can't even just delete our old version and plop in the new one b/c we would lose all of our own changes. It has to be manual now.
Of course, this may be a limitation of GEDCOM as opposed to Genopro.

I agree with maru-san.
You can make Legacy export only partial GEDCOM.
The problem is that if you update more than one person and those people are not related then you will have to export for each change.
Second, there is a problem when updating an existed data (Ex. add/change birth date) you have to delete the original and place the new one instead with his relationships (to his parents, spouse and children)

Basicaly Yehudad is right, but the question is what excatly do you want.
1) If you update the data of an exsisting person from Legacy to Genopro, you can export from Legacy that person, import into a new genopro file and copy this person to the genopro file you want to update by replacing the old person.
2) Another cenario would be to update the genopro data with new persons. The procedure would be very similar. Export from Legacy, import into Genopro and link to the parents and/or children, whatever is correct.
The best cenario would be to enter all your data always first into Genopro and export then into Legacy. In Legacy you select then the proper relationship (parents/children). In this case you do not have to worry about the layout again, since you have done so already in the first place.

I'm using Legacy also.
I cannot see a way of refreshing the information from Legacy without starting from scratch in GenoPro
If I understand what you are asking you want to transfer from Legacy to GenoPro only the new data you added to Legacy and by that to avoid typing the new information twice - once in Legacy and once in GenoPro. Is that what you are asking?
If it is then as far as I know there is no way of transfering data with GEDCOM from Legacy to GenoPro without doing everything all over again. You must type any new or updated data twice.

Hi,
I'm currently using Legacy to build the family tree and wanting to use GenPro to draw the actual tree. I've used the Gedcom export out of Legacy and imported into GenPro without problem. However, I cannot see a way of refreshing the information from Legacy without starting from scratch in GenPro. Any help would be appreciated.
