The father has two spouses, and chidren with both of them
I want to
link
a new child to the father, but the mother is unknown
I get a message telling there are two existing
families
, and i have to choose one, and the link is not created.
How to create the link?

Is this child "belongs" to one of the
wifes
or to a third wife?
either way a child must have a mother and a father.
My suggestion (assuming I understood what you described):
Select the father and click the
family wizard
.
You can either live the mother blank or call her "unknown mother". You may remove the mother object or you can live it as it is.
Add the new child.
In the child comments write what you want to describe the situation.
When you know the facts you can then unlink the child object from the current relationship and link it to the correct one.

This is a similar case of an "unknown father". GenoPro will eventually have the
pedigree
link "Possible Child", similar to the "Biological Child", "
Adopted
Child" and "Foster Child". An
option
will be available to exclude the link from the
report
, so the child is not counted twice.
