The state to enable/disable the Data Tips is not saved when closing GenoPro. Instead, the Data Tips (and also the Gridlines) are saved with the .gno document. If you turn off the data tips and save your .gno file, the data tips will be turned off for that document. I see what you mean. The data tip refers to the data in the tree. If I stand over a marriage line I get its details - x and y has z children - or somthing like that. I think, however, that what doakey meant is the tool tip when your mouse is over a button on the toolbar. This is not toggeled off.

On my PC with XP Home the Data Tips can be turned on or off - and they stay off when reloading GenoPro. It is possible there is some underlying feature in the operating system. I have removed the annoying MS dog assistant. I had a quick look on help about tool tips and found nothing that could turn things on or off, but there may be something there.

appleshaw On the top menu go to View and in the second part of the pull down menu is the item 'Data Tips' which will have a tick beside it. Click here to remove the tick - and the tips will also goI tried this and the tips were still there. This is why I wrote that I didnt found where to toggle it off. Moreover if you removed this option, close GenoPro and open it again it is toggeled on again.

I have to admit that I searched for a place you can toggle it off and didn't found it, so it must be on on your computer, too...
