Theline between father and son has a plus |- between them as if wanting the name ofthe mother as well. I just want a father to son relationship in the previous centurynames. Kindly help. or is the same available in the  2.b13h version. And files created in  2.b13h can not be opened in version 1.70.Please advise.

GenoPro 1.70 was released in June 2000, which was over 11 years ago.  If you wish to go back to this software, you need to export to the v1x format.  All versions of GenoPro are capable to export to the old file format.

GenoPro is a graphic front end to the underlying database, containing your information. You can modify the graphic to show what you want to see. To make things simple for the usual case famlies are drawn on screen with both parents. You can select the symbol for a mother and delete it. Then click on the horizontal line to select it and adjust the length and position to show what you want. You can select groups and drag them around the screen

You really made us explain very clearly and precisely..While creating single parent I'll keep these instructions or I must say guidelines in my mind.

Sir,

The horizontal line remains after one does auto arrange can one not have directly:
great grand father
grand father
father
son
child

without horizontal line that remains after deleting mother

The Auto-arrange was introduced at an early stage of development and does have limitations. The problem is that there are so many options possible, such as your requirement.
The problem is that every child has two parents, even if they are not known. Personally I rarely use the auto facility; I do not like the way it introduces an extra horizontal line if there is more than one child to a family.
I can only suggest that you use the facility initially and finally change the tree to the style you prefer.
