All of the sugggested occupations might have also a proffesional occupation and or amateur interest option to show , because many people's ambitions cover more then one field of work. Or it might be resolved in some different way?!

GenoPro can record multiple occupations per individual. If an individual has simultaneous occupations (full-time or part-time), then two separate occupations should be recordered.

I would like to see Water Utility & Environmental protection/Waste Management included somewhere. Suggest renaming Mining & Energy to Natural Resources, Energy & Waste and include the above in the list of associated industries.

Good suggestion. Would Natural Resources be confused with Forestry? Perhaps Forestry should be moved Natural Resources.

| Please note that forestry is not regarded as an energy source, but as a source for food and similar products and thus belongs into the agricultural sector. Most countries have combined these together in their ministries.

| I find Dan's list, with Ron's remark, good enough for the purpose it is for. I think it's impossible to have perfect list of industries with this accuracy without any overlapping sectors. But if there's overlap, it's up to the user how he decides to sort them.

Please note that forestry is not regarded as an energy source, but as a source for food and similar products and thus belongs into the agricultural sector. Most countries have combined these together in their ministries. It is true forestry is a crop, which belongs to agriculture. Maybe have a new category for Environment (soil, water, air), Recycling, and Waste Management?

Good idea. Had it there already actually (see top of this page) but maru-san suggested environmental things go to Public Admin... I think environmental needs one it's own. What do you think of organizations, then? In Blue Book coding there's one whole section reserved for them. Here's an url http://www.opas.net/TOL/ which probably none of you can read (finnish) I'll translate headers once more if there's something that could be adapted: 01* Agriculture, Dairy, Game, and related services 02* Forestry 05* Fishing 10*-14* Mining (Coal, Oil, Gas, Ore, Minerals) 15* Food and Drinks manufacture 16* Tobacco manufacture 17* Textiles manufacture 18* Clothes manufacture 19* Leather, shoes, bags manufacture 20* Wood manufacture 21* Paper manufacture 22* Publishing, printing 23* Coke, Oil product and nuclear fuel manufacture 24* Chemical manufacture 25* Rubber and plastic manufacture 26* Non-metallic mineralproduct manufacture 27* Metal refining 28* Metal product manufacture 29* Machines manufacture 30* Office and computer manufacture 31* Other electrical machine manufacture 32* Radio, television, communication devices manufacture 33* Special purpose machine manufacture 34* Cars manufacture 35* Other vehicle manufacture 36* Furniture manufacture 37* Recycling 40* Electric-, gas-, heating service 41* Water cleaning and distribution 45* Construction 50* Motor vehicle sales, repair, gasoline sale 51* agentures, wholesaletrade 52* retail trade; repair 55* Accommodation and food services 60* Traffic on land; pipes 61* Traffic on water 62* Traffic in air 63* Traffic serving, travel agencies 64* Postal- and teletraffic 65* Financing 66* Insurances 67* Financing services 70* Real estate services 71* Rental services 72* Computer services 73* Research 74* Other business services 75* Public administration & national defense 80* Education 81* Health care and social services 90* Environmental care 91* Organizations 92* Recreation, Culture & Sports 93* Other services 95-97* Employing homes 98* international organizations and foreign agencies 99* unknown

In spite of dealing with this metter before Beta14, the program development is a dynamic process, therefore here is my suggestion:maru-san (8/18/2005)
Any suggestion for those 10 categories? Could come up with the following list (16 categories) when looking through the list provided by Stefanos and available at present in GenoPro, but I am open for discussions: Other Services laundry, hairdresser, religious, housekeeper/maid, non-specific repair service I this that the "religious" metter should be separated under: Religious Services rabbis, sages, genii, cantors, priests, levites, prophets, religious judges
