| Example: 1) Define "FATHER" (male) as M, "MOTHER" (female) as F, and their 4 (four) children: M1,M2,F1,F2 (acc.to this very order). 2) Enter a specific sibling, go to the "birth" subfile, and - then - press the "Change Rank" button. 3) Mark the "Use the child order from the list below" option, and then press the "First Name" field-title. 4) As you can see at this stage, the siblings are "presented as" resorted. 5) Press the OK button. 6) In fact, these siblings (of your tree) are still in the original order, and NOT AS REQUESTED. 5a) After using the "MOVE BEFORE" and/or "MOVE AFTER" buttons/options, the final output is also identical to the input (as claimed under paragraph 6). Thanks, Alex

| The child rank do not affect the display position; this is by design. However the auto-arrange should replace them in correct order. This will be fixed in the next beta.

| I changed the rank order of one family in my tree, but there were no changes in the display even after using the auto-arrange tool. I think it's a bug.

beraha (1/5/2006) I changed the rank order of one family in my tree, but there were no changes in the display even after using the auto-arrange tool. I think it's a bug. This was exactly the meaning of my message;), but - as I've understood - they're taking care about this.

I made an improvement to the AutoArrange. If you change the child rank, then the AutoArrange will use the new explicit child rank to arrange the children, otherwise the AutoArrange will use the date of birth. Of course, you need to click on the AutoArrange toolbar button to arrange the children with the new child ranks.
