On a children generated report, it says: Her/his grand-parents were blablabla. Shouldn't it be are if the grand-parents are still alive?If yes, it's up to you to decide what to generate in case of only one grand-parent is dead: is/was or was/is?

Is the simple answer that as a general rule you should not include living people in the report, so the question does not arise?

John,You're wrong. Who said that living people should not be included in the report? I'm using beta 15d and selected "generate report for the whole family ...". I got the following for one of my great niece report: "Jade's father is ... and her mother is .... Her maternal grandparents were ... and .... She is an only child.". I maintain that Were should be are as, I can assure you, both her maternal grand-parents are not ticked as deceased on their respective death tab properties window. I believe my initial comment is valid. Regards

John, You're wrong. Who said that living people should not be included in the report? I think that John was refering to the ethical side of publishing our family tree. Publishing details about living people in the Internet where everyone can see it is a problem. Not all of the people in the tree wants that the information about them will be published. The main sites are invoking, automatically, the 100 year rule, which means that who ever has the chance of being alive his details are removed. First name is changed to Living.

Point taken - didn't mean to cause offence.
I had a look at the code and can see what the problem is. Unfortunately I do not have enough experience of the functions to try to fix it - I don't think it's a ten minute job.
Basically it's one of complexity. If we take the 'parents' entry "Jesse's father was George Brookes and his mother was Mary Riel", there are limited options- if child or father is dead, if child or mother is dead, and if one parent is unknown.
If we consider the equivalent for grandparents - "His paternal grandparents were bob bell and june july; his maternal grandfather was bill black." - you can see many more options. Firstly, is it 'grandparents' (both listed), 'grand mother' or 'grandfather' (only one listed', then is it 'was' or 'were' - and then repeat it all on the maternal side. The code to do this is already complicated - it would take a better man (oops 'person') than me to sort it out.
Sorry I can't be more helpful - think this is one for the professionals.

We will look at those issues after the release of v2.0. There are many improvements to be made to the report generator.

The attached revised report skin files, Dictionary.xml, Code\Lang.vbs & Code\Util.vbs, should fix the grandparents/grandfather/grandmother is/are/was/were phrasing. just replace the same files in your skin template.
