In Genopro, there is a place to add notes- descriptions for each picture. to individuals pictures and to Family pictures.

In the report, while watching the family pictures on the individual page, the notes are not displayed. I know I can move to the "family page" and see those notes, but most people stays at the individuals pages and when they look at the the family pictures, they can't see its description.

Is it possible to add a small code to the Individual.htm Skin to have the option to display those notes of the family pictures as well?

I'm sorry that I bring this issue again, since I've got no responde for more then a month.

I hope that this is a small feature that could be added before Ver 2. The code of displaying the notes of the family pictures is already exist, doesn't it?. It just have to be added also to the "INDIVIDUAL.htm" page.

I hope to get a reply this time

Thank you.

Can you please send a link to the individual and family page you are talking about.  A picture is worth a thousand words Smile.

Let me try to explain what I ment.  Please look at this link:

http://beraha.50webs.com/test1/default.htm

You can can see that there is one family picture.

You can see this picture on the Family page and also on each individual page (the husband's page and the wife's page).

But this picture has also a description (Family picture notes). This description can be seen only under the "family page" and not under the individual page.

also - on each picture you can add some fields such as: "picture date", "place" and "source". those fields are not displayed in the report at all.

And the last thing - It is possible to add on the "family properties" a field called "lable" and this data will be displayed on the graphical tree above the line that connects the husband and his wife. instead, why not to add an option that on the same spot, it will be able to display the field that represents the marriage date?

Thank you

It appears that the family picture notes are explicitly surpressed on the individual report. If this is not required then make the following change to the template file Code\lang.vbs

change lines 230-233
 If (nFamily < 0) Then
  ' Add the annotation when generating a full family report
  WriteHtmlAnnotationPicture Dic("Family"), f, "right", g_cxPictureSizeLarge
 End If

to
  WriteHtmlAnnotationPicture Dic("Family"), f, "right", g_cxPictureSizeLarge
To move the individual picture notes to below the picture, change the following lines in the template file individual.htm (changed lines are in bold)
from
WriteHtmlPicturesLarge i, "right", ""
WriteNarrativeIndividual i, false, Null
Set collFamilies = i.families.ToGenoCollection
if (collFamilies.Count > 0 and g_fHideFamilyDetails) Then
 For iFamily = 0 To collFamilies.Count - 1
  Set f = collFamilies(iFamily)
  Set spouse = i.FindSpouse(f) ' Find the other spouse
  strSpouseName = spouse.Name
  If (strSpouseName = "") Then
   strSpouseName = Dic("_NoName")
  End If
  strHyperlinkText = Dic.FormatPhrase("PhFamilyWith", StrPossessiveProperNoun(i.Name.Short), Dic.Ordinal(nFamily), strSpouseName, Dic("DetailLink"))
  Report.WriteFormatted "<div class='clear'><br />{}", Util.FormatHtmlHyperlink(f.href, strHyperlinkText)
 Next
End If
WriteHtmlAnnotationPicture Dic("Individual"), i, "", ""
to
WriteHtmlPicturesLarge i, "right", ""
WriteHtmlAnnotationPicture Dic("Individual"), i, right, g_cxPictureSizeLarge
WriteNarrativeIndividual i, false, Null
Set collFamilies = i.families.ToGenoCollection
if (collFamilies.Count > 0 and g_fHideFamilyDetails) Then
 For iFamily = 0 To collFamilies.Count - 1
  Set f = collFamilies(iFamily)
  Set spouse = i.FindSpouse(f) ' Find the other spouse
  strSpouseName = spouse.Name
  If (strSpouseName = "") Then
   strSpouseName = Dic("_NoName")
  End If
  strHyperlinkText = Dic.FormatPhrase("PhFamilyWith", StrPossessiveProperNoun(i.Name.Short), Dic.Ordinal(nFamily), strSpouseName, Dic("DetailLink"))
  Report.WriteFormatted "<div class='clear'><br />{}", Util.FormatHtmlHyperlink(f.href, strHyperlinkText)
 Next
End If
Alternatively copies of the amended versions of the files are attached. Just replace the versions in your existing template folder.

As for the additional picture attributes such as date, place, source, etc. this needs a little more work. I'm thinking of  perhaps an extra 'information' icon below the picture that can be clicked on to bring up a window containing these extra details.

Ron,

Thank you for the 2 modified files as I was interested in these issues.

As you obviously are an HTML and VBS specialist, please have a look at my topic http://support.genopro.com/FindPost10944.aspx

and see what you can do to bring the title and the notes closer to the photo.

I think it is due to the fact that this photo has an x greater than the y. Such photos are basically "group" photos and usually include wedding photos with all guests, photos taken at work with all the collegues, school class photos, etc.

Also have a look on my other topic http://support.genopro.com/FindPost10943.aspx and, if possible, try to address the 2 similar "bug reports" points and the item 3).

Thank you for your time.

Now - After Beta16 has been released, why the above modifications that Ron made, were not integrated on the new Beta and were removed?

Ok that's down to me - I checked the code for Dan and missed this one. Blush Will get it fixed asap.

Update May be it is not down to me. I've checked the code and generated a test report and I find that the above amendments are in place! The code has changed slightly to fix another issue but I believe it is working correctly. Could you double check your results please?
