I liked the Alphabetical Surname Index feature in the report, but this feature has been removed on beta 17c. Is it possible to restore that feature as an option, so the users could activate that option from CONFIG.XML?

If you take a look at file toc_names.htm, you will see the Alphabetical Surname Index.  Do you have any suggestions to link this file to the rest of the report?

The tree index for individuals provides the equivalent of the Alphabetic Surname Index therefore it is not displayed. At present you can still generate a report with 'flat' indexes which will also show the Alphabetic Surname Index in the 'popup' frame. It will automatically be displayed both on first display and when the 'home' button is clicked. It is also shown when the 'a-z' button on the Names Index is clicked. You will need to set the Config.xml parameter 'fUseTreeIndexes' to 'N' in order to generate 'flat' indexes. However flat indexes may not be supported in future.

I think that the Alphabetical Surname Index should not be located on a separate frame but on the same frame above or below the "Most Popular Family Names" section, as it was before on Beta16. It's much more simple this way to navigate within the report.

Look at this sample:
