Is there a way to save a chart as a jpg? Currently I am making several screen captures and pasting them together in Paint.

At the moment, there is no Save as JPG feature.  Youc an export to a metafile however which can be pasted to most standard graphical application.  By the way, you should use the PNG format instead of JPG.

I use the freeware IrfanView (www.IrfanView.com) to convert .emf to .png files.  If you have very large .emf files, you may find IrfanView a bit limited since you don't have full control on the zoom.  If you wish to learn more how to use IrfanView, you are welcome to read How to post screenshots in this forum.

Thanks. I experimented a bit, but Paint was very unhappy with the file, Word condensed it into unreadability, and I don't really want to get involved in some long process of learning a new additional program just to do something that should be a no-brainer.

GenoPro is useful to track people I have found, but it just fails with all sorts of things that a charting program should do easily. I realize that author has probably put a lot of work into it, but it needs a lot more before it's ready for prime time.

Perhaps you have an example of a more robust genealogical charting program?

Many people think the feature they want is a maker/breaker of whether a piece of software is 'ready for prime-time'.

No software can be all things to all people.

However, this software is many things to many people. Sorry it doesn't impress you enough.

May be one day we will find your ideas of `all sorts of things` under "Suggestions, Ideas and Feature request".

Microsoft Paint has many limitations, and one is highlighted by it's inability to read a .emf file correctly.  Genopro uses Metafiles as they are a far better way to save the genograms for use in other programs.  Infranview on the otherhand is also a free graphical editor, but with advanced functionality. Opening the .emf file in Infranview and saving it as a .jpg is not difficult. But as pointed out ... you would be well advised instead to save it as a .png, which uses far less memory for a better result.

I have used IrfanView to export the image in PNG or JPG formats and when i open it using Picasa Image Viewer i can zoom in and see the details for the tree however strange thing when i upload it to iCloud Drive for example or send it Via WhatsApp and i try to zoom in the zoom is very limited also the image itself is blurry for some reason, has anyone faced the same behavior and how to resolve it.

By default Whatsapp will reduce the resolution of images. You can change this in Whatsapp's Settings / Storage and Data /Media Upload Quality.  I don't use iCloud but from what I've read the gallery images are compressed but if you open the image or download it then the original resolution is restored.

Of course .jpg and .png are raster (bitmap) images and so cannot be zoomed in above original resolution without distortion, but browsers etc will reduce a high resolution image to fit the required space. Whereas vector images such as .svg or .emf can be almost infinitely zoomed.

I've noticed I sometimes get fuzzy GenoMaps when I export trees to PDF files.

I now go into Properties ... Advanced .. and crank up the DPI to make sure the lines and writing are crisp.

I haven't experimented with the .EML files yet.
