HelloMy uncle put me on the genopro databank and this is causing a lot of trouble to me.

Now he had lost his login and password and can´t delete me from the files.

What can I do?

You do not say where your details appear, but basically the files need to be replaced, after making the edit you need. It also depends on the version of GenoPro used to create the files. Your uncle needs to contact GenoPro to get his login details if he used a copy obtained there. However if he obtained an early freeware version and put them onto a site, password lost, then he will have to start with that site.

Options include

1 just delete your details from the file.

2 Use the Privacy setting in the report generator to exclude all living people. (assuming the use of a recent version of GenoPro) It is usually considered a good idea to do this unless you have permission from the people concerned to publish their details.

3 Publish the data on a password restricted site; GenoPro provide this facility for their own customers free of charge.

Hope this helps

i have to delete some personsfrom familytrees.genopro.com, but I can’t do this. I did read the help topics, but that didn’t help.

I deleted them from my tree andthen imported to familytrees.genopro.com but they are still there. It meansthese people disappeared from my tree, but when i write those persons on gogglei still can find them. And this is a very big problem for them.

How can I fix this, so I couldn’t find them?

Send me the link (URL) of the web page and I will contact the author of the publication.  I will put a password on his account, so the data remains private.

Two points about files on familytrees.genopro.

1 If you update the data on your PC and then load the new report, you only update the files from that load. Any files that have not been changed remain untouched, which means the files you thought were deleted still remain on the server. The safest way to update in this case is to go into your profile and delete the whole report and then load the new version.

If you have not found where to edit/delete files, you need to click 'My Profile' and then select the GenoPro tab on the next page. Scroll down and open the Online Publications by ckicking View/Hide

2  Having cleared this area you may still find your files through Google but these will not be the ones you loaded but are in Google's cache. They will disappear in time. Others may know of how to speed this clearing process
