I noticed that as from version 2.0.1.6 a "V" parameter is used, obviously a version identifier.

What is the meaning of the "+" or "±" in the version id?  I presume "+" means "as from", but how do I interpret "±"?  And, are there any other values planned?

Example: <burial V="2.0.1.6±" T="buried"/>

Sorry (red cheeks all over), it's documented in the change history.  But since my XML differences utility strips the comments, I did not see it ...

By the way.  It seems to be impossible to delete a topic from this forum.  I tried to do so but it logged me out instead.  Dear moderator, you may delete both this reply and the root post.

Thanks.

Like everyone I saw these Rev strings in Dic. I also noticed, same as Nand, that a few tags are being shown as revised but without any noted differences!
It is my opinion that these Rev strings are rather cluttering the Dic instead of being really necessary.
I think any User seriously attempting (or keep updating) a Dic translation, should/must be using a Dir/File Comparison Utility program. There are many available on the Net FREE of CHARGE.
With such a Util Prog, all Differences (between 2 Genopro Rev.) will be highlighted hence no need for these Rev Strings.
I'm using Kdiff3-Qt4 and set my screen as follows:
1) on the top half screen, I open Kdiff3 and compare, say, EN Dic 2.0.1.5 with 2.0.1.6.
2) on the bottom part of the screen, I open my FR Dic and carry on any required modifs highlighted in the top Kdiff3 panes. You can copy any difference from the Kdiff3 panes and paste into your Dic. You then have to keep scrolling down the comparison list and your Dic in order to go to the next highlighted difference.
No big deal. It takes a bit of time. That's all.
Hopefully, there should not be too many Dic heavy modifs to come now!
The main advantage in using a Compare Util Program is that you're not relying on any Rev strings for modifs flagging!

Hi JC,  I agree.

Since I'm not only interested in differences but also in matches (indicating that a translation was NOT made), I wrote my own XML diff utility.  Hence the strange format in the code listing above.

Can the developers react on the post with the remarks?  It could help us a little to find out if they are valid or not.

Also, anyone having been thinking of an on-line or batch testing tool?  Something that can generate most if not all possible phrase combinations so we can test our translation efforts.  Right now we have to wait till the syntax bugs show up "in production" mode.

(I'm going off-line till Thursday)
