Hi, I need to find the symbol for alcohol  abuse. If there is no symbol, how can I mark an individual as an Alcoholic?

I was able to create a symbol for alcohol abuse by following these steps:

1. Create the individual (works best for males because the symbol is a square)

2. Choose the individual, press L to create a text box, and click to place it anywhere.

3. "Edit" the text box by removing any text, make the border transparent, and the shading solid black.

4. Now resize the box to be the width of the person's symbol, and half the height. Place in lower half of the person's symbol.

5. Most likely the rectangle will be behind the person symbol, so choose the rectangle and use the Position command to Bring to Front.

If you download and install the 'Monica' version of GenoPro then several medical symbols are readily available including alcohol abuse. Click the View menu and then 'Genogram Toolbar' to see all symbols.

With version 2.0.1.6 then double click the individual with alcohol abuse, then click the Display tab. You can then fill the bottom two quadrants of the genogram symbol with black to denote alcohol abuse.
