Hello Everyone,

AFAIK GenoPro can display either birth place or birth date, but not both. This info is very important for orientation in my complex tree so I sometimes insert short abbreviation into 'Second Last Name' field (never used in our country) and for 'Name Format' I use 'First Middle Last (Last2)' option, what helps. This workaround has several drawbacks and I'd like to eliminate it. Is there any better way how to achieve this? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Place the information required into a Custom Tag and set GenoPro to display this tag instead of the usual field. This information can be added either manually for each individual or programmatically using the 'XML Toolkit' (q.v.).

You can add line breaks in the data by inserting the text <BR>

'lego audio video erro ergo disco' or "I read, I listen, I watch, I make mistakes, therefore I learn"

Thanks, but I'd prefer using already stored data to doubling them via custom tags. Moreover, I've found custom tag is used instead of top lines, where birth/death date is shown in my case so single custom tag would have to be changed together with any update of these fields. Too complicated from my point of view.

BTW, there is missing corresponding tab in my Individual properties window - I don't see there any 'Custom tags' as illustrated in Help at http://www.genopro.com/help/custom-tags/.

For me it would be nice to have any interface for creating customized displaying pattern for global use. There could be two fields - for top and bottom part, both in form of keywords like 'birth-date|death-date' or 'first-name|middle-name|surname|(birth-place)'. This pattern could be saved into file and hence to be available also to my relatives. Individual display settings would be preffered, of course.
