When updating my family report, is there a reason why I have to constantly change the Picture and Thumbnail English Narrative Settings back to my preferences each time I generate the report? I shouldn't have to change Picture settings to show full picture from 'no' to 'yes' each time my report is generated. How can I make the settings update and stay?

See How to Customise your Report. The .gno attached to the 1st post in that thread shows how you can use GenoPro Document 'Custom Tags' to override the default Configuration Parameters in Config.xml.

Note that at present GenoPro does not provide a facility allowing a Report Skin to save Configuration Parameters in the Windows registry for use in subsequent invocations of the report. Using Document Custom Tags to provide these settings is a work-around for this missing facility. I guess I could add some code to the skin to provide such functionality but I have to draw the line somewhere and I believe this should be part of the GenoPro Report Generator 'core'.

Thanks Ron...it seems that trying to do simple things like changing the background image of my genogram report (both framed pages) gets so complicated. Thx again.

Hi there,

I am finding the same problem. I would like to make changes to the family tree and then quickley generate a new report. Each time I do this I have to change the picture/svg settings etc. to achieve what I want from the report. I have tried to use the links described in previous posts but they seem to have expired. Does anyone have a reasonably easy fix that might help me to preserve previously selected settings when i generate a report.

Thanks, any help much appreciated

Regards

Andy

Download the latest English Narrative Report skin. It now saves config settings in the registry.

Ron,

Thanks for doing this.

It was irritating trying to remember what settings I had previously used (often months in the past), and then resetting them.

Was very impressed to see that it was taken care of in this skin.

Thank you.
