Please help me! I am utterly confused! I have designed a basic genogram of my American family and would like to share it with my newfound Italian relatives. Their strong language is Italian and I would like to know how do I send them the genogram I have already begun so that they may add to it and complete the other side of the family.

Also I am using the free version I believe and am unsure what I will need to do after 15 days are up, since I have used this program for  years I am not sure if I need to worry now!

I am slightly computer illiterate so please please spell everything out for me step by step so I do not get lost! I would appreciate that!

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

theaSmile

The latest free version of free GenoPro is 2.0b13h - see http://www.genopro.com/free/. The forum says you are using 2.0.1.4 which is supposed to be time limited. Make sure you are both using the same version. That is assuming they will add to the tree in Italy.

If you send them the link here they can get the same program. Send your gno file as an email
attachment which they can open and use.

My suggestion is that before you send it you rename one of the tabs at the bottom to Italia. Right click on the text GenoMap2 and this will open a menu and the third line is Rename.

You can help get things started by 'Moving' someone to Italy. Choose someone from Italy where you have no information about parents. Right click this person and from the menu click
'Move to GenoMap' and obviously select Italia. This person will then be copied to this GenoMap but will appear with a hyperlink, so clicking here will take you back 'home'.

Your Italian family can then use normal GenoPro tools to add people and information about them.

You could also move a family that you have entered if it fits better on the Italian map. If you have problems come back with specific details.

Hope this helps.

You might like to consider using GenoPro2007. One feature which might be of importance is the ability to use different language packs. I do not think that is available in 2.013. With the current version you can choose to use Italian language, so that all of the menus etc are more easy to follow. Other advantages include extra features; the ability to publish a wider variety of reports; put reports on the Genopro web site so all of the family can see the information without having the GenoPro program; safe backup of your file on the GenoPro site. Against this is the cost of $49 for a license or $79 for two of you. (I converted from free to paid-up many years ago and have never regretted it)
