Hi,

can someone help

When I try to publish my tree to the familytree site the report generator lists the following information

Publishing report to http://familytrees.genopro.com/33801/
Connecting to server familytrees.genopro.com...
Cloning document Our-family...
Opening configuration file Config.xml for skin '\Customized Export to Gedcom\* (Export to Gedcom)'...
Loading Dictionary.xml...
[0.00] Processing template 'Gedcom.js'...
To enable display of parameter settings, untick the box under 'Options' tab of this dialog.
Gedcom output has been written to file 33801/Our-family_fullmap.ged
Generated and written 1 page in 6.031 seconds
[7.23] Writing files from skin...
[7.23] Writing 2 pictures to report...
[8.51] Report Ready! Click on the "Close" button to continue.

It then opens a Notepad window and the error 'the system cannot find the path specified'

if I publish to my hard drive I get a report with over 600 family members

Help Please

Brian

I am able to open the file http://familytrees.genopro.com/33801/Our-family_fullmap.ged from within my browser.  Depending on your web browser, the .ged file may be downloaded.

This is the response returned by the server FamilyTrees.GenoPro.com:

(Response Status) HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Accept-Ranges bytes
Content-Length 129672
Content-Type text/text
Date Wed, 07 Oct 2009 22:03:04 GMT
ETag "44c484a8c47ca1:2c2"
Last-Modified Wed, 07 Oct 2009 20:25:19 GMT
Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0
X-Powered-By ASP.NET

As you can see, the content type is Text which means it may be opened directly in the web browser, however likely to be opened in a text editor such as Notepad.

What web browser are you using?

Thank you for getting back to me,

In response to your question I am using IE7

But also I have checked it in Google Chrome and Firefox and I get the same result - when I copy and paste the link you gave it opens a download window and opens the file in Notepad.

Can I not view the tree online

Once again thanks for your help

Brian

I think you may be running the wrong report. In the drop down list of Report Skins, chose 'English Narrative Report' and not 'Customized Export to Gedcom'. The report you are running simply produces a .ged file as you have observed.
