Hi all, I have just completed my family tree for my organization (360 people, 194 families....PHEW!) haha, anyways now that its done, i have gone to publish it....and uh oh...i may have just shelled out 50 bones for a program that doesn't generate a complete ancestry tree....only truncated ones.  this is very bad for my organization and i was wondering if maybe i was missing something... i need to be able to click a name and see the ENTIRE ancestry for that person.  Please help Smile

When you say 'publish', where will this be? Paper or PC? There are several ways of producing a report with GenoPro, some of which need extra skins which are on this forum. The standard web/computer report includes a tree diagram which shows ancestry. However if you have used the GenoMap facility to spread the tree over different display sheets the report does the same and has links embedded

You should try to Generate a report

http://www.genopro.com/help/report-generator/

either Narrative report or Descendant report.

If you don't have a web site you can publish it for free at familytrees.genopro.com

I have tried the english narrative report already, and when i click a name it only shows a few generations back, i need it to show ALL generations, is there an option somewhere to do this?

I have also now tried the descendants report, and it just spits out an error about not being able to open a template or something :/

Here is exactly what I'm trying to do:

Use the narrative report but have it so when i click a name it displays the persons full ancestry, not just 5 generations back.  please help me find the right file to edit and the right parameters to change.  thank you.

ok so it seems in order to add additional tree tiers i would need to define additional tiers in init.htm and then generate them in individual.htm.  this is beyond my skill level to accomplish.  if anyone has any fine ideas on some possible way i can display a complete ancestry, be it in a tree, a table, or just flat out text, i would like to hear it.

The pedigree chart of an individual is handled in individual.htm (if you make a copy of the English Narrative report this can be found under the customised English Narrative report folder). The routine name is WriteHtmlPedigreeChart.

I checked this file under version 2.5.2.4. I am not a guru, but it seems to me, that the depth is depending on the width of the already processed ancestry entries (i.e. the chart stops if the next level does not fit to the screen - if further ancestors are available those marked with * and there is a footnote 'There are earlier generations for the ancestor(s) indicated. See their page(s) for details (click name').
