Right now, to assign a picture for an individual, one has to select each picture, one at a time. This means that if a person is part of a group of individuals in a picture, I cut and paste onto a new picture, and save this new picture in some location, then link it in the Pictures tab.
At the same time, I use Picasa to collect pictures of individuals. Picasa has an excellent feature which allows auto-detection of faces and attempts to assign a fca to the appropriate name. This feature is so useful, I use it all the time.
My suggestion was to enable GenoPro to link with the folder of Picasa, thus removing the need to add a specific picture to a separate folder, then linking each picture (one at a time) to GenoPro.
In particular, when creating the narrative report, I would be happy to see, with a simple link, all of the Picasa pictures for this individual displayed as a show (each picture appears for x microseconds). Perhaps this is a joint effort of Dan and Ron??
I recognize that this may require a bit of effort, but it would spare me the constant cutting & pasting, and would enrich the experience greatly.
Thank you for considering this request.
Danny

Can you upload one of those picture and post a link to the documentation. I will take a look at it.

I'm not sure how useful it would be, but it should be possible to use the Picasa Button API to push pictures from the Picasa desktop client to GenoPro.
Essentially this API calls a nominated executeable, passing a list of the selected images (i.e. pictures in the Picasa Tray). The executeable (to be written by 'someone') could perhaps prompt the user for the target GenoPro object (Individual, Family, Contact, etc) to which the pictures should be linked, Ideally the user should be able to pick from a genomap or Table View. I'm an avid fan of Picasa.

Ron,
Your approach sounds great!
Now, how to get this idea placed high on the priority list ?

Thinking about this further, I now believe assignment of multiple pictures could be handled in a more generic way within GenoPro.
I suggest that the GenoPro object Properties 'Pictures' tab be changed to allow multiple filenames to be selected by the Browse dialogue, or a list of filenames be pasted into the Picture location field, or a set files be dragged from say Windows Explorer and dropped into this field. This would also make implementing a Picasa Button API interface much simpler. The executable would only need to paste the list of names onto the clipboard ready to be pasted into the Pictures Location field within GenoPro. As for your second requirement of a slideshow of pictures from Picasa within the Narrative Report, then theoretically this would be possible for locally generated Reports only, by delving into Picasa's database files on the assumption that contact names in Picasa match the Individual's name within GenoPro. 'Hands on the table' this is not something I am considering doing in the foreseeable future.
