Dear colleagues!

I’m sorryfor my terrible English.

I can’t tomodify data. http://www.genopro.com/sdk/Class/GenoDate/

My case isthe data aren’t clear. I work with old Russian registers and build the familytrees based on these sources. During 16th – 18th centuries sources didn’tincluded concrete data both of birth and death. Registers pointed age flexible (an excluding is age of thenewbie, exactly).  Really, we can be guidedby data (year) of register itself and to count the data approximately. The year of death can be counted between the data (years) of sources. Sometime we can to count hypothetical data of death only after any data. The earliest register with age (1678/79) gives theage of the kids only (till 14 years).  Wecan to count: 1. hypothetic father’s data of birth (before – 15 years approximatelydata of elder son berth); 2. hypothetic limit of data of birth of every adultpeople whose age isn’t touched. These data are before some years. So, we need to use unclear data type with useoperative terms: approximately, before, after, between.

I can addsuch data as custom tags, but how to display them up?

Iunderstand it is possible to count flexible numbers with using different methods. Is it possibleto wait the development of GenoPro by this way too?

Thanks

Use the tilde ( ~ ) symbol for approximate date.

For example, ~1880

If you want to add more information about the date, simply add in the comment field to explain what information you do have.

... and use  > for an approximate date after a particular date and use < for a date sometime after a particular date.

i.e. > 1880 for after 1880    or < Mar 1881 for before March 1881.

If you know say the date of a baptism/christening etc. say 4th Jun 1882 then you can enter date of birth as < 4 Jun 1882.

To express the Gedcom BETween operator use ~ with the mid-date and enter other dates in the comment as GenoPro only excepts one date.

You can also put any text in a date field  e.g. 'between 1881 and 1883' but no age calculation will be done and no date formatting carried out.

Thank youvery much.

I try touse operators as symbols. It is good idea for next calculations, but not forpopular edition, unfortunately.

Exactly thefield for comments is very needed for argue of data and other things. Technologyof the family trees building in my case is based on identification of the personstouched in different registers. So, I need to note argue for identificationsometimes.

I can’t toput text in the data field. It is key problem. Every text disappear. There arespecial settings?

Exactly, the best way is to tape operators which display like text “before” >; “after”<; “between” ~ (if it is sandwich); “approximate” ~.

Right now Ican to make custom tag for text expression and to double it with operators indata fields. This way gives new questions off-topic.

It ispossible to place custom tags on the authorized labels?

Is itpossible to make custom tag with square field?

What kindof way is to save the custom labels for some files?

Thanks.

Hello Barmaglot.

Not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to do, but you can use the DISPLAY menu item to display custom fields.  This may answer your first question.

By square field, do you mean MALE person?

You can create custom fields and use them for each and every person in your tree.  Is this what you are interested in doing?

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to insert a date between? For example, a person was alive in 1850 but died in 1860. I've tried 1850><1860 but it doesn't work. Thank you who will answer.
