Hi,

I recently purchase software. However, I cannot figure out how to paste data from a spreadsheet into GenoPro. I have datastored in Microsoft Access tables, and would like to transfer existing datainstead of re-typing thousands of entries. I have viewed the videos, from which Icannot tell how to paste in numerous lines of data at a time. The videos showhow to paste in one field. Please advise.

You need to find a way to tell GenoPro what to put where.  It cannot figure out on itselve if it's a name or place you specify or a birth or death date.

Regardless if you use Access or Excel, I believe the best way to go is to export your data to a text file, add the necessary GEDCOM tags to it, and import it as a GEDCOM file into GenoPro.

Try inputting some data about at least one family with children directly into GenoPro and use the "File/Export/Via report generator" to produce a simple GEDCOM file.  This should tell you the basics about how to format a GEDCOM file with your data.  You can use this for the bulk of your data and add the details later on by hand.

Google suggests how to convert spreadsheets (ie tables) into Gedcom. Look at
http://www.tedpack.org/text2ged.html
or if you are into VBa basic then
http://www.vyger.co.uk/rootsmagic/excel-to-gedcom.html
might be of use
