I noticed that Reset button works in Windows7 and does not works in WindowsXP.
All my changes of configuration parameters are saved every time.
And after use Reset button this message appears:

but in this case configuration parameters are not reset in Register (WindowsXP only).

Not sure what is happening here as it works OK on my Windows XP. Can you please confirm using regedit  that after reset the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DanMorin.com\GenoPro\SkinConfiguration\English Narrative Report' is present in the registry and still has entries within it.

It is also possible to store Configuration Partameters within a .gno as GenoPro 'Document' Custom Tags, is it possible that you have values stored in this way?

I have removed GenoPro and all keys 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DanMorin.com\'.

Then I have Installed program once again. Result did not change.
See pictures:
1. After Installing the program.
2. After making the report (Narrative_2011.10.06 with changed configuration parameter).
3. After use the Reset button.
Report was created for blank .gno file.
I do not use Custom Tags.

Thanks for the feedback Alex.  Could you please try replacing the Init.htm file in the skin with the attached file.  This should hopefully provide some additional information on the error that you are experiencing,  Thank you.

Update: attachment removed

Hmmm, I wonder if your version of WSH is different to mine. The script attempts to read the default value for the key to check if saved values are present. I have googled the problem and there is some evidence that RegRead returns an error when a key has no default value although I cannot reproduce this problem.

I have now changed Init.htm to set a default of date/time whenever a key is added/changed. Hopefully this will resolve the problem. Could you please try the attached Init.htm?

Ok, one last stab at this before I give up!  Then you will need to use brute force via regedit to delete 'English Narrative Report' key if you want to reset. w00t

This time I am using a named value 'Updated' to indicate saved values present rather than using a default value for the key.  This will only work if values are saved with the new Init.htm attached as otherwise the 'Updated' named value will not be present.

p.s. I am using WSH 5.7 on XP. (Check version in Properties of wscript.exe in %WINDIR%\system32)

Presently this works in Windows XP and in Windows 7.
Thank you Ron!

(In Windows XP I have wscript.exe v.5.6.0.8820)
