I have recently looked at apprentice records which contain two names; the Master and the Apprentice. The data about the Apprentice can be filed under his occupation but this is not really appropriate for the Master.
Other programs have an Event location and it seems this would be a valuable extension for GenoPro. Many other sorts of information could be related to an individual. If he/she is a witness (wedding, trial etc) this is useful to record. Is jury service an occupation or a one off event?
To make this more useful some sort of cross referencing is needed. The witness may also occur in a marriage record but where the person is a church official he/she can be witness to several events, not really part of occupation.

The Social Relationship could be used to document the Master/Apprentice relationship. Perhaps using Pupil/Teacher connection type with a suitable comment.  The narrative for the connection can be changed using the NarrativeStyle custom tag associated with a new phrase in either the Dictionary or held as a Document custom tag.  But events usually have a date/time , duration and place none of which at present can be associated with a Social relationship, and so Occupation or Education entry is more suited.  Again NarrativeStyle custom tag can be used to set an appropriate narrative phrase.

But all this just serves to 'paper over the cracks' in the current GenoPro data model.  I agree what is needed is a more generic event record. I recall this being requested in the past.

I see it as a separate entity rather like a Social Entity but with start and end dates and place. Social Relationships could be extended to connect Individuals, Families and Social Entities to 'Events'. e.g. a 'Union' event could have bride, groom, witness, officiator, bridesmaid/page boy etc relationships. Essentially Occupations, Educations, Unions and 'birth ceremonies' (baptisms etc) could be transformed into Event records. Education 'Institutions' and Occupation 'Employer' becoming 'Social Entity' objects.

But with the current rate of development of GenoPro, I may not live to see it, even if it does make that elusive 'roadmap' Whistling

Looking at other programs I see that the ancestral program of them all, and origin of gedcom, has the ability to add your own event. The LDS PAF5, which has not been changed for 10 years, has the ability to add your own event easily. Although I had not used the program seriously before it was easy to produce the Indenture Event here.
