This subject has been floating around here for a while, and I think it's a great idea for consideration for GenoProX. I have several large genealogies that I am in the process of merging, that cover most nobility and royalty from Europe and Asia... and yes, they all connect. The Byzantine Empire married their daughters into various royal lines in both Europe and Asia, and as a result one can go from Europe (whose royal and noble lines are all intermarried) to the Middle East via the Crusader Kings, Byzantines, Russian Tsars, and heirs of Alexander the Great, to the Mongols, Chinese emperors, and semi-legendary rulers of Tibet, to the Japanese emperors. Understandably, the relationships in the extended genealogy can be quite complex, and having a kinship calculator in the program would be interesting for those of us interested in how we connect to history.

Oh, and Ivan "the Terrible" is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan... as is Vlad "the Impaler" according to one reconstruction... interesting to see what traits run in families... Wink
