Dear All,
let me introduce my proposal.
It would be nice to
separate data and the final
layout
(object positions, grouping into
GenoMaps
).
In this case you could create multiple views of the same data, but differently for various purposes.
It would also be great to create different set of GenoMaps and to
hyperlink individuals
between them differently.
In every file you could define several these LayoutMaps and switch between them using drop-down list.
Any changes in your data would invalidate all the LayoutMaps/GenoMaps where the particular
individual
appears. You could see these instances and intervene if necessary.
Technically the data would be stored in separate txt/
xml files
, which can be easily versioned using SVN. The primary data file could be shared between multiple users (optionally also with LayoutMaps), but everybody could maintain its own layout or group selected individuals into GenoMaps.
Many people could participate in entering individuals data and creating one large global data file - and also to pick these relevant into their views.
I hope it makes sense a bit. Sometimes it is hard to express exactly what I mean :-)
I know it is a big and very demanding feature requiring lot of effort, but this fact can't stop us :-)
Regards,
Jan
