The full error is:

Error at line 67 (default.htm): Invalid procedure call or argument: '[string: "(null)"]'

Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800A0005

This is when I try to 'Generate Report' under Tools. I've opened a .ged file which loads OK with 598 individuals and 0 errors.

I've used GenoPro before (11th March) but need to generate new report because of some additional data in the .ged file.

I've uninstalled and re-installed latest version of GenoPro and it keeps coming up with this error.

System: Win7 Premium (Up to date) with plenty of disk space and 4M RAM

I've even tried with the Compatabilty mode set to Windows XP - still the same problem.

Please help. I love the layout of the final results which I've used for a number of years and don't want to have to start all over again.

This is a duplicate of recent post http://support.genopro.com/Topic31470.aspx

Please try searching the forum for an answer before posting.  The error number '800A0005' is good unique search term to use.

The answer is out there if you look!

This took longer than it should to sort out!!

I eventually found and downloaded latest narrative report from this link: http://support.genopro.com/Attachment1433.ashx

and followed the instructions on post #30691.

I've put the info. here for the benefit of others.

Unzipped the file into and a new folder in:

'D:\My Documents\Family Tree Data\GenoPro\Skins\Latest Narrative Report'

Run GenoPro, open and load your .ged or .gno file and then select 'Options' and browse to:

'D:\My Documents\Family Tree Data\GenoPro\Skins\.

Important: Do not browse to the full path 'D:\My Documents\Family Tree Data\GenoPro\Skins\Latest Narrative Report', because you will not see the Latest Narrative Report in the next step.

Now go to the 'Report Generator' tab and select the 'Latest Narrative Report' in the drop down options.

Now click on 'Generate' button - and it should work OK!!

Note: to check you've got the latest narrative report, open the Config.xml file (in the above folder) in Windows Notepad and you should see <version>2013.02.17</version> in about the sixth line down.

There seems to be a number of people in the forum that have experienced problems with this 800A0005 error. Hope this helps.

800A0005 error

Running Windows 8

Have had success in the past generating reports, but now can't seem to get report correct.
Main program seems to be working fine.

Error occurring almost immediately when trying to process default.htm.

Searched posts and downloaded and extracted new report as per responses to this problem.  still no improvement.

Reloaded Genopro completely, and still cannot generate a report.

Any answers?

Are you sure you are using the latest Narrative Report skin?

Check that your report log contains the line

Base skin version from Config.xml is : 2013.04.28

If not then download and install the  Latest GenoPro 2011 'Narrative Report' Skin

Also How to install and use custom or updated report skins may be of assistance

Note that the link given by 161881 earlier in this thread points to an earlier version 2013.02.17 which while still overcoming this error it is not now the latest.

If you are definitely using the latest report skin then please give the full context for the error with line number and template file and base skin version as given in the report log.  If you are using the latest skin then the error will not occur at the same line 67 in default.htm as this template file has changed.
