Hi Ron,

I love this new report. A couple of things to report:

1. When I click on the photo icon I get the loading animation, but that is it - the lightbox never loads
  • My narrative report settings use "pictures" as a directory for photos - I suspect this is the cause - can you tell me what directory the Descendent Tree is expecting to find, and I'll retest using that
2. After clicking "Collapse All" the lightbox doesn't attempt to load when I click on a photo icon

3. When generating on the local machine (rather than web publishing) it won't display in Chrome

I've published the reports here:
http://familytrees.genopro.com/HarryCaper/Waltons_Descendents/default.htm
http://familytrees.genopro.com/harrycaper/Waltons_Descendents/descendants/DescendantTree.htm?tree=Walton-Zebulon-ind9999910.xml

The narrative report skin used was Narrative_2012.09.20, and the decendent report skin used was Descendent_Tree_2013.07.01

all the best,
Harry

Good morning Harry, is summer really here?

I love this new report.

Nothing new about this one, been around for 3+ years Wow  The problem is it is very difficult to find anything on this forum, it took me a while to find the download and I put it there!  I have now pinned it to the Report Generator sub-forum in the hope others can find it.  I'll contact JC and see if we can have a downloads subforum.

I see the problem you are having.  My testing was with absolute paths to pictures. HarryPotter has mostly HTTP references for its pictures.  I have change the code to detect relative paths and add a '../' prefix to look in the parent folder of descendants rather than in descendants as it does now.  In http://familytrees.genopro.com/genome/HarryPotter/descendants/DescendantTree.htm?tree=Evans--ind00021.xml Harry's picture is a relative path and now works.  Will upload a revision shortly.

Update: just realised what you meant about collapse all - investigating.....

This skin was originally a taster for me to play with jquery stuff and try a data driven page (tree is loaded from xml file)

The intention was to integrate it into the Narrative Report but that got overlooked as at the time I didn't have an easy way to do it as this is JScript and the ENR VBScript

On reflection I think I can do this by having a custom tag to mark individuals that you want to have a descendant tree chart for and then the Narrative Report will generate the links to the charts (another icon e.g. http://support.genopro.com/Uploads/Images/30c43ee9-1e61-4d83-8877-ca55.png after the name probably)

I can then mod this skin to generate the charts for all such individuals, possibly as an iframe in the 'popup' frame of the Narrative Report.

best regards,

Ron

Interim update of skin uploaded.  To get pictures working only needed to change _PathPictures in Config.xml to ../media/   .  I had forgotten that GenoPro ignores the picture path specified under the options tab when testing.

I'm still looking into the Collapse all issue.  It appears tha dynatree removes the event handler required by FancyBox.  Needs a change of approach so I'll try with latest dynatree and fancybox jquery plugins as I change to tabbed HTA and ENR links.  So may be a while before you see anything .......
