Hello,
I have a problem...
I'ld like to export my family tree to a pdf file but when I do so my pdf doesn't have anything in it.
My tree is pretty big : 25.4 X 283.5in I print it in a "single page" using Cutepdf Writer but as I said the file is empty.
It is meant to be sent and printed but a professional printer.
Has anyone had this kind of problem before ?
Please let me know.

Had a play with one of my large files. Found that in printer setup you need to use Custom postscript paper size. When I chose your paper size the program complained and set larger value to 200. Need to check page layout again for 1*1 and then check print preview
Result was not perfect but 150k - not blank
If all fails try other pdf printer eg NovaPDF

Hello Appleshaw,
It's getting better !
I generated a 80k file but still half of it is missing. I think my problem is that I'm using CutePDF Writer which doesn't allow a file more than 200in long... Do you know of any other (free) PDF Writer that allows a 283.5in file ?
Please let me know.

Just tried primopdf which has the same problew - max size 200in.
One option is to set the graphics to a higher level so you can print at a larger size. Depends if your printer can scale up. A pdf file is just a graphic so this should be possible

In the printer properties, tab Paper/Quality click Advanced and the select dpi as shown here

Thanks Appleshaw, I figured it out after posting my last message. The file is bigger (159k) but I'm still missing part of it because of the 200in limit I guess. I trying out deskPDF studio, if you have any other suggestion, let me know...

Where does the figure of 280 inches come from? 24 feet width is an understatement for a "pretty big" tree.

Just curious.
Will this be plotted on a device that can take larger sizes than A0 (which is about 120 cm x 85 cm)?
