Genopro uses some Windows features, so there is no way the present version can be ported to another OS. Search this forum for the ways that it can be set to run on a Mac. This is easier with later machines using Intel processors.

Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro, which I bought in 2013. I cannot download the Genopro software on my laptop

Please help me, so I can finish this assignment for my Chaplain Residency.

Sincerely,

You may run GenoPro on your Mac with special software http://www.genopro.com/faq/is-there-a-macintosh-version-of-genopro.aspx

On the side note, we are building GenoProX from scratch to run on all platforms, including Macs and smartphones.

Thank you for the link that will allow me, a Mac owner, to use GenaPro. I hope it works!

Blessings!

I'm pleased to see that GenoProX will be multi-platform. I've been losing patience with Windows for some time; Windows 7 redeemed them somewhat, but their upgrade plan for Windows 10 doesn't interest me in the slightest (I've tried Windows 10 precisely because it was free, and I had serious system performance issues, so I went back; it otherwise looks like a far better version of Windows than 8 or 8.1). I suspect that my next computer will be either a Mac or running Linux... and I may switch my current system to Linux if M$ decides to make the Windows 10 update mandatory before I can afford a new computer. Hopefully GenoProX will be out before Windows 10 becomes compulsory, because GenoPro is my most-used app apart from my Web browser (which is mostly used for genealogy research and my Facebook addiction).

I agree with you.  I have been a long time Windows user.  More than two decades ago I was working at M$ and built the DNS Manager and the Services Snap-In (services.msc).  I also met Bill Gates twice in his house.  My next computer will NOT be Windows 10... as I am considering switching to Linux, or perhaps find a copy of Windows 7 to run on the new hardware.

As for GenoProX, we are building it for all platforms, including smartphones and tablets, both 32 and 64 bit.  The development this month has a bit on the side, as I have been working integrating the audio with the chat.  One of our developer also got screen sharing (like in Skype) and working to integrate video H.264/MPEG 4 into GenoProX.  Technical support has been a long time burden and we want our users to be able to contact us and share their screen so we can see what the problem is, rather than having to listen for 20 minutes to describe the problem.

I understand the desire for screen-sharing completely, after my recent bug report with the scroll bar issue; screen capture recording freeware is my friend now. Smile
