I finally found my missing 1.44 floppies containing extensive an family tree back into the mid 900s ( I got it back to 04 AD but hadn't entered it all. ) My data is saved but I no longer have the programme on any of my computers; I thought it was all lost forever. Would you have my old license info from your start-up days and can I restore my data to some useable form with any programme you might be able to license for me? The discs say that they were written in 2003 and all the extensions are .gno

Can you help me? Thanks in advance.

rdestrube01@gmail.com is my current address, but not then. We can talk...

Hopefully Genopro will be able to help with your registration key.

The same registration key works for all the recent versions on Genopro, and the very early versions were freeware / shareware.
I am not sure if you will need to migrate your .gno files through some older versions of Genopre to get then suitable for the latest version
The good news is that you can install several different versions of Genopro on your PC, (just install into different directory folders), many of the older versions of Genopro are available for download from http://www.genopro.com/archives/

Info downloaded today from the Genopro website

The installation of GenoPro 1.70 is 100% backward and forward compatible with all GenoPro 1.x products.

Tip
Tip!

You can install and run both GenoPro and GenoProFree simultaneously on your computer.  During the installation, you enter a different folder to install the free version (example: c:\Program Files\GenoPro 1.70\).
Once the installation is complete, create a short-cut on your desktop for each version installed.

GenoPro 2.0 Beta 13h is Free!

You can download and use GenoPro 2.0 beta to grow your family tree.
GenoPro Beta 2.b13h (June 2005) is the last version of GenoPro that does not require a registration or activation key.
You are welcome to use GenoPro 2.b13h for as long as you want without ever spending a penny.

Download GenoPro 1.70 or 2.b13h from our download archives at: http://www.genopro.com/archives/

I hope  this information helps you

Update:

Some of the earlier versions of Genopro would include the Genopro version number in the filename, so you may have something like Document1.v1x.gno or Document15u.v1x.gno..
(these file of mine are from beta15 generation, saved in V1x compatibility mode,  example  15u.v1x.gno  is from beta 15U and saved in old v!x format)

I have just gone through my Genopro archives and found a .gno file which  I last saved in  2002; I just opened this OK in Genopro version 2.5.4.1

I suggest you download and install  the latest version of Genopro and see if you can open your files (it will work without a registration key as a viewer on large genograms, but you will not be able so SAVE with more than 25 individuals files.
You need a registration key to save with more than 25 individuals,; I hope that Genopro can find your original registration key information for you.

As mentioned already the early versions of GenoPro were freeware but you could also buy it and get a registration key. If so you appear on this forum as a Customer.
The original log-in would have been your email address at that time plus a password.
If you did buy v.1 then then this is still valid for the latest versions. Try to log in with your old email address and guess which password was used. If you see Customer in this forum then you can find your registration details

A big advantage of buying a license is that you can back up your files using GenoPro server, so you will never loose them. No repeat fee, so again the files will always be accessible.
