We are working on GenoProX which is designed to be capable to import (and export) data in multiple formats.  The architecture of GenoPro 2016 is 18 years old and is lacking versatility to import complex data.  GenoPro 2016 is capable to import Gedcom 5.5 files, however it was a bit of a hack, and not all data from Gedcom 5.5 is imported.  We will do our best with GenoProX to import all data, regardless of the file format.

The Gedcom X converter is incomplete and progress on it seems to have stalled with little movement over the past 3 years.

Just a comment: If the new version is GenoProX, then it only makes sense that it will fully support the GEDCOM X format; I assumed that was the reason for the name, seeing as current version numbers are nowhere near 10. Smile

GenoProX will have the ability to support multiple file formats, as the architecture to import and export data was completely rewritten for such things.  The original GenoPro (written in  1997) was designed to support a binary data format, and later a module to import basic data.  After 19 years of development of GenoPro, I learned what is needed to make a better genealogy software.

By the way, the name GenoProX is an internal name used to distinguish the old GenoPro from the new one.  We could have called it GenoPro+ however the + sign is problematic when entering a URL, so we used the letter X.

Thanks for the clarification; it makes sense that way too. Smile
