I have a complete copy of our family tree from 1628 to present that I created 10 years ago but when I try to import it to a new edition of genopro it asks me to convert it to a gedcom file. How do I do that when the original file is on my desktop?
Any help would be most graciously appreciated.

Do not understand the gedcom bit. When I tried to open an old file I got the following message
http://support.genopro.com/Uploads/Images/e0607765-39c8-4c31-b7d0-c2b9.jpg

It seems the link is through the xml version and the Message Log shows that is what is missing.
Simplest way for now is to use the old program to save the file as .xml and open that. You will probably have to download the earlier version of GenoPro, and install it in a separate folder. Could also create a Restore point for today and then restore an earlier set of files with the original program

You can find the earlier versions of GenoPro here; http://www.genopro.com/archives/

If you want to have multiple / different versions of GenoPro installed on your PC, you can achieve this by installing each different  version into a different folder

(I have separate installed folders for GenoPro 2.0.1.6;  2.5.3.8;   2.5.4.1;4  and 3 different versions of GenoPro 3.0.0.x, and use the earlier versions when I need to).
