Hi!
I want to add race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, etc. I know how to show this but I need to know how to implement it with this specific program. For instance, a blue square 1/4 filled in the top left corner means depression on the toolbar but how can i get this 1/4 filled square of a certain color to equal a certain race or a certain economic status. Thank you!

Just pick a color you wish for a race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and create your own legend. This is the flexibility of GenoPro.

If you want to have the correct 'tooltips' when hovering over individuals then there is a way to re-assign the existing medical conditions to suit your own personal requirements.
Simply choose another language from the list, ideally one that has no translations, (e.g. AB) then click Language, Translate Menus and scroll down to the symbols and edit the associated texts. Your amended text will be shown when hovering over the symbols. Best not to download or upload your Language pack to GenoPro for this language to avoid confusing others. If you have other users requiring the same modified language pack then copy the file (e.g. AB.xml) to their PC. It is usually found in %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Program Files\GenoPro\Lang (Program Files\GenoPro could differ on your system e.g. if 64-bit or enoPro not installed in GenoPro folder) Since you cannot add new conditions, but only re-assign existing ones then you are limited to the number of conditions already present.

Is there a way to remove the condition assignments entirely without involving other language packs? As I've mentioned elsewhere, I use the individual fill colours to identify families in my genealogy of British nobility based on the colours (and, more loosely, the patterns) present in their family heraldry, and the version of GenoPro I began the genogram with did not preassign condition values to the colours, so initially, it worked... but since GenoPro 2011, I haven't been able to dissociate the colour from the condition.
I'm hoping that GenoProX will be more flexible in this regard, but it would be nice to have a fix that I can implement now. Thanks.

The only way I can think of is to slightly adjust your colour codes where they overlap with the ones used by GenoPro for medical conditions etc. e.g. export your .gno to XML then search and replace with a text editor (e.g. notepad++ ) and reopen the edited .xml.i.e. Heart Disease is indicated by colour code #FE0000. Change this to #FE0001 and although the colour is almost identical it doesn't show as Heart Disease any more

That should work well enough for my purposes; Notepad++ is one of my indispensable apps (along with GenoPro and OpenOffice).
